Waymo works closely with public safety officials to ensure the safe introduction of our technology. The instructional guides and video below provide information for first responders interacting with our vehicles. These materials supplement the overview of how we design, test, and validate our technology found in the Waymo Safety Report.
In addition to providing the material below, Waymo proactively offers training to first responders where we operate. We have a dedicated team with over 120 years of combined experience as first responders, and to-date have:
- Conducted in-person training for 8,500+ first responders at 75+ agencies
- Hosted 240+ Training Sessions
- Attended 20+ Conferences in 2023
- Actively participated in national committees and panels to guide standardization
